Steal with pride

Every year it´s the same…What kind of New Years card do I need to send?  Do I buy the cards? Were do I buy them? Which theme, etc… After checking out Dustin Snipes´s  website, I came to the conclusion that I have not been working with Photoshop for a long time (only retouching and smaller actions…)  and decided to make my own cards, not those pre fabricated ones. Subject?  Our children of course…I started with the idea of Dustin and made my own version

Hard learning

Clichés are something we do not like, but most of the time they do haunt us.  I had the opportunity to make some product photographs for a local company.  Even though we made some good arrangements, everybody was motivated and full of idea´s ultimately diring the proces it did not really feel good anymore.  Communication was not good, a few misunderstandings and enthousiasm faded. At the end there was only one way communication (from my side) but nothing came back.  I already had delivered my photographs, but no feedback.  After a hard day work and lots of hours post processing nothing came back.

I learned one thing;

1. Most of the time gut feeling is right although you have a contract, agreements and a bunch of e-mails.

That 70´s Show

I am a big fan of that old KODAK color look.  I mentioned in my dutch blog that I was looking to create the look of an old 70´s picture, the ones that we have ourselves (ourselves as in myself being born in 1970).  I took one of my daughter earlier today.  Love it.  I know there are a few imperfections but these do not bother me

Through the viewfinder

I am completely ‘fan’ of ‘through the viewfinder‘, but have not been able to create any photographs…  I possess two Yashica´s, buth they have a rasterized viewfinder which creates lines onto the photograph. Today I am trying to make myself a contraption, but the ‘concept contraction’ is still far from good. Anyway, I will be posting soon a few results on my blog, but in the meanwhile, enjoy the magic of Rustman

I had the possibility to admire Platons work through the internet and being a fan of portraits he really hits me in the heart.  This image does not only stand out photographically, but even politically it sends out the message for everyone…Luv the guys work!

Waiting for a friend

Everytime I hear the Rolling Stones with “Waiting for a Friend” I think about my best friend Georges.  I managed to ask him to pose for me, which he totally does not like.  This time it took me a dinner, a coffee and some persuasion…

Not my first blog

Although not many posts on this blog, does not mean I have not been busy… I have been blogging for a few years now, but I thought it would be time to go English.  Why?  I probably see a lot of good bloggers and web sites, and whenever you want to reply you need to ad your own web site or blog.  How many international bloggers do read and understand dutch?  Guess what…?
